My 3rd Year of Business! Celebratory Give Away!

It’s official – I’ve been in business for 2 whole years! My 1st selling venture was the Red Dirt Art Festival in April of 2007, and here it is, 2 years later, and Red dirt is coming up next weekend! It’s amazing, everything that’s happened in my artistic life, in these past 2 years! I’ve had a lot of success, one of the most important things was for me to define what success IS! And for now, my success is defined as:

Being able to financially support my artistic endeavors, and to continue to grow as an artist.

Going Green April 09 001For me, this is a big lesson! Just because I can keep making bags and scarves and selling them doesn’t mean I SHOULD! I want to continue to make the art I want to make as well, not make another $1000 this year…because, lets face it, although $1000 is NOT chump change, it doesn’t go far when it comes to paying the mortgage, or putting food on the table.

So, in celebration of 2 years being in business, I’d like to share a little by offering my 1st giveaway! I made a bunch of going green totes this week, and I’ll be making more in preparation for the next show.

  4. Congrats on two years of craft show success! Hmm, I prefer the cool colorway. They look more vibrant and lively. Of course that could just be because I tend towards that color palette myself. What cute little birds. They remind me of the Partridge Family. 🙂

  24. Congrats on your 2 yrs..here’s hoping number 3 is successful too. I have been here before and admired your bird purses you made a while back. Those were too cute! Guess I’d go with the warm pallette…but I’m not fussy. I especially like greens and rusts.

  31. Candy…It is hard to pick one. I love them both. I guess I would have to opt for the cool because I love the Navy, Bright Blue, and the Red. But I also love the colors in the Warm. But I only know my primary colors so I don’t know what to call them. I am obviously the most color challenged person on the planet so why some are in the warm group and some are in the cool group is beyond me. Maybe someday, someone artistic can sit down and explain it to me 😉 I am very envious of your talent!

  33. I slightly prefer the cool to the warm, but like the brown and the orange (warm) more than the grey and yellow (cool). So somewhere in the middle or a little from column a and a little from column b.

  74. Congrats on 2 yrs of business!! If I have to pick from the two, I’d have to pick the warm colours. Although both are appealing to me for different reasons. I love working with the warmer colours, but have found that some of my friends I make things for are wanting more of the cooler colours.

    When I was young, my family from the midwest via Route 66 to visit my Grandfather in Redlands. I remember it being a very nice city.
