So, truth be told, I’ve got so much to do that it isn’t all even on the list, sigh…
Anyway, back when I worked in a research lab at THE Ohio State University vet school, there was a young lady, a pre-vet student, who worked on a Master’s in our lab.
Jaime LOVES pigs! Seriously! Here she is holding a pig cake I made for her birthday!
Year’s later, she ‘s almost finished with vet school (her facebook status today:”I spayed a pig today. It was grand.” HAH! Vet students are a different breed…oh the stories I could tell…)
She’s engaged to be married and has asked me to dye scarves for her bridesmaids: they’re going to be wearing light green dresses, and the flowers for the wedding: Gerber Daisies.
I’ve been stewing on this one for month’s now, because she asked me so long ago, and I didn’t have immediate inspiration.
For awhile I was trying to think of a way to combine the light green with the bright pinks and golds of Gerber daisies…but that’s a tough combo to do…the green running into red would make brown.
Anyway, inspiration struck me last week while I was ironing scarves…and I was ready to dye!
Here’s my first try at capturing gerber daisies in silk:
I’m amazed at how different this particular scarf looks like, depending upon which way the scarf is draped.
I’m gonna ship it off to Ohio – I sure hope she likes it!
