Let the Baking Begin!

Woot!

Prep for Thanksgiving has begun in earnest! We’ll have a good 15 or so people here for dinner tomorrow, with another 30 (!) coming for the Festival of Pie later in the day! So, today is all about pie baking! I started by gathering all my tried and true recipes together, I am extra nerdy, so I made a PDF of all of themto share with folks, download it right here: Candys favorite pie recipes

Of course, we had to start with a big list, we did this the other day in the car:

Appetizers

  • Pickles
  • Olives
  • Crudités, (carrot celery cherry tomatoes)
  • Ranch, regular and chipotle

Dinner

  • Acorn Squash Ravioli with pine nuts, sage and brown butter sauce
  • Turkey
  • Dressing (Hawaiian bread with apples, sausage & sage)
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Gravy
  • 2 kinds of Cranberry sauce: Mario Batali & Standard from the back of the bag
  • Brussel Sprouts w/pancetta, dried cranberries, balsamic vinegar
  • Smitten Kitchen Sweet Potato Crispy Sweet Potato Roast
  • Peas & Pearl Onions
  • Roasted beets with goat cheese
  • Carmelized parsnips
