Meetup | September Goals

Well, summer vacation is over. I start back teaching on Tuesday. We’ve got a busy Fall ahead: Liam has more auditions than ever this Fall, and he’s also got a super duper festival to take part in, the NAfME All NATIONAL Honor Ensembles, there’s a band, chorus and orchestra made up with kids from all over the country who made it into their respective All State festivals and then auditioned for this group. We’ve just found out he’s Principal Trombone in the Orchestra! YaHOO! So I’ve been juggling and jiggering my schedule, trying to get a few days free so I can take Liam to Nashville, where the conference is being held this year. I do believe it can happen – and we’re going to go a day early so Liam can take a look at Vanderbilt University and have a lesson with the trombone prof there. Couple that with the fact that we’ve got to go to Indiana in November for Andrew’s Mother’s memorial service and 3 different shows in one month and holy MOLEY there’s a lot of stuff to do!

The hardest thing of all is pressing pause on the Dyeing 103 button. I was so close to launching before the kitchen project, but I’ve learned that building these courses requires  focus, so I’ve just got to wait until I’ve got some more projects wrapped up!

So I’m gonna just try to stay calm, and do what I can to prep for all those shows once I get back from the QATV taping.
