It’s my 7th winter here in Southern California. We’ve got the drill down – the roses need to be cut down by Valentine’s day, because Spring is right around the corner. My last rose of Winter is gone, but more will be here soon enough.
Sometimes I can’t believe I live here, because this Winter is so different from the New England Winters I grew up with. Another part of me revels in the lovely weather we get this time of year…in the land where oranges and lemons are everywhere, and the Eucalyptus trees don’t lose their leaves.
alamodestuff Linda has started a weekly meetup based on taking a moment each week to really notice something as you go about your daily grind life. I need to do this. You may want to too – read more about it here:

It looks lovely. I am loving the hopeful, happy feeling of things warming up after our hard winter.
This is funny because we are snowed in today. I love your winters, but I’d love a little escape to So Cal. Those oranges look scrumptious.
I feel ya! Growing up in NY the winters were so different to my winters now spent in AZ. Rejoice in it!
What a pretty place to live! I must admit, even though I love living in a four season NE state, I am jealous of your fruit trees and the smell of eucalyptus. I guess I’ll just have to visit someday 🙂
I’m jealous! I’m over winter. I could live in the tropics. I’ve had 44 years of extreme seasons. I’ve paid my dues. Rant over.
Dang that winter weather sure looks rough (she said with just a slightly jealous bone in her body).
You are making me jealous. Our mountains got 3 feet of snow yesterday. I cant imagine having such a mild a lovely winter. Consider yourself blessed 😉
