Well, it wasn’t the holiday we’d planned this year, we were supposed to be celebrating in Massachusetts with my family. But I am sooooo grateful we got Logan to the doctor before his appendix burst, oh my goodness, I try not to go down that road… Anyway, it’s amazing that just one week ago my little guy was lying on a gurney in the ER trying to come to terms with what having his appendix removed meant, and then later that day when he couldn’t even have ice chips in the recovery room he was so worried he couldn’t have turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, and PIE! And here we are a week later, Logan zooming around the house like nothing had ever happened…I didn’t even get a good picture of him! Hooray!
The little cuties I DID manage to get halfway decent pix of are kids of friends! We were able to put together our “normal” Thanksgiving at our house, thanks to the hubby who went straight from the airport on Wednesday to the grocery store so he could do the shopping, and then jumped straight into cooking. We had some good friends from the Music department over for the bird, etc… and then even more people for PIE!
I hope everyone had a grand day, and that if you do venture out shopping today, I hope you get home in one piece! Me – well I’ve got to install a bunch of art at the Redlands Art Association next Saturday, I’m the featured artist in December. So I’d like to get some new pieces made that have been swirling in my brain for WEEKS/MONTHS!

Love this tradition you have, Candy! And so glad that everyone got to enjoy and healthy and happy holiday.
You do have much to be thankful for this season, Candy. I’m thankful too that Logan is back to normal! It looks like you had a lovely day in spite of appendixes.
I think I’d have to eat for more than 3 with all these pies 🙂 Looks delicious!!!!
Best wishes to Logan!
They were…except the next morning I was awoken by the sound of the = sweet potato pecan pie shattering on the floor (thanks to my dog =
Stirling!) NOOOOOOOOOO! 🙂 Sigh, better for my thighs…
So glad you were able to pull of a nice Thanksgiving on the spur of the moment. Nothing like good friends to make the day. There were just the four of us (us and John’s parents), but I dream of a houseful. Love the idea of inviting people over for desert later! I may have to adopt that idea!
The pies look delicious! I’m glad your boy is feeling better!
it sounds like that pie was all around a big hit!! so glad your little guy is better and that you had a great t-giving, even though it wasn’t as originally planned!
