Holiday Studio Tour Report

Oh my goodness, what a great time my open studio was! It was part of a holiday studio tour I did with four other artists this past Sunday. I got a few pictures taken before it started, they aren’t the best, but I thought I’d show you how I turned my living and dining rooms into Candied Fabrics Land:

We had some warm mulled cider with cookies and cranberry nut bread. There was a bit of a rush in the morning, and then pretty much a steady stream of visitors except for about a 20 minute break in the early afternoon.

It was great to be able to show folks how I worked. I had a few folks who know me only from the blog drop by – that was totally awesome!

I was really worried that we had gotten started too late, and wondered whether I was being nuts to do this in such a busy season, but I’m really glad we did this.

  1. Wow – it all looks so fabulous! I’m very impressed. I’m not sure if I have mentioned it before, but seeing your beautiful work with your hand-dyed fabrics has finally convinced me that I need to use the fabrics that I dyed in a class with Elizabeth Barton at Arrowmont almost a decade ago! It’s so hard to cut into them, but how fun to have beautiful things made from them! I love your work – very inspiring! And your ability to display your work – true genius!

  2. It looks so good!!! I love all the color so fun and cheerful. Are those book planners (pic 8)? Do you make the covers or sell the whole thing. I don’t think I’ve seen them in your shop but, maybe I missed it? What a fun way to share your artistry.

  3. Your house is gorgeous! So much space and the color from your work just makes it all the more inviting. Glad you had a great time and a steady stream of visitors!
