Studio Snapshots | Choosing the Thread

After piecing together the front of the zip bags I’m making for my show next weekend and quilting it with neutral gray trhead to structure and support, I needed to choose some variegated thread to stitch some botanical motifs. Since this is a new color palette, I had to search through my newly organized threads for some new colors to try out:

The pins are marking the threads that I think work the best on a particular color. Here’s what I ended up doing:

  1. Thread choice can make or break a quilt so it’s important to give it at least as much thought as I give to other parts of my (usually) scrap quilts – design, fabrics, layout, borders, binding! Thanks for the demonstration!
