My goodness, it’s been almost 2 weeks since my open studio and I’ve been so busy with end of term grading and Christmas preparations I’ve had NO time to blog! I had a great Holiday Open Studio this year! For the most part, I was talking to a couple of people pretty much straight both days! There was only one time where there were more than 4 people here at a time, which allowed me to really spend time talking with everyone; a few of us even stepped outside to try some indigo dyeing!
The house was all spiffed up,
and I turned the dining/music room into a shop for the weekend:
My shibori shade votives were a big hit:
I finished, and hubby was able to frame, 13 indigo dyed, mudcloth inspired glue resist pieces, I’m quite happy with how I was able to display them on this shelving unit (most of the pieces that live there usually are still there, just pushed back a bit):
The folks who came were a combination of old friends and people new to the world of Candied Fabrics, I love being able to catch up with the old friends as well as introduce new ones to the kind of art I make! And plenty of that art is making its way as gifts as well, a true win win!

Wow. I’ve followed your blog for some time but seeing your music room/shop really brings it home how MUCH work you do apart from your “real” job. It looks great and festive. Happy Holidays
Things get made little by little, I’m always building inventory! Happy New Year!
