Giveaway | Quilting Arts February/March 2014

A couple of weeks ago I received my complimentary copy of the February/March 2014 issue of Quilting Arts.

QA67_cover_WEB

It’s got an absolutely lucious quilt by Kate Stiassni on the cover.

My article is about my quilting motif sampler book. This is something I came up with because I needed to find a way to easily look through the samples of quilting motifs I’ve saved, and this quilting sampler book is the result. Each page is a 5″ Γ— 7″ sample of a single quilting motif. The pages are large enough for me to see the motif in action, but small enough to stitch quicklyβ€”so the construction of this book is fun, rather than a chore.

There are lots of other great articles in there as well. I’ve got an extra copy of this magazine I’d like to give away. To enter, leave a comment below by February 13 and I’ll announce the winner on Valentine’s day! To make it fun, leave your vote on which of these three things you would most like to receive for a Valentine’s gift:

  • Flowers
  • Chocolate
  • A stack of hand dyed fabric

  1. Hello Candy, I would love a stack of your hand dyed fabric! I’m looking foreword to your class in April!

  2. Maybe because it is winter (and snow is on the ground again in Santa Fe), but I would choose the fresh flowers. The colors and scents of flowers at home always feel like a little bit of luxury, but especially on a cold, gray winter day.

  3. Candy I’m so impressed with your work, and your video about QAYG
was great, it answered a lot of questions. Would love to win this magazine.

  4. Thanks for a chance to win. I’d take a stack of fabric over chocolate and flowers anyday!

  5. oh, I would like flowers but is second to fabric, yes, hand dye fabric…. thank you for the chance…

  6. Fabric, fabric, fabric!!!!!!
It was an icy day and foggy. My daughter left for work and DH left for work extra early and I was concerned for their safety. When I saw a funeral home on caller ID I almost lost it. Little did I know the flower shop was part of a funeral home. I told my family I want my flowers on fabric from now on!!!
I’m also allergic and have asthma. Chocolate isn’t all bad either.

  7. Flowers are pretty and chocolate is yummy — however I will be able to enjoy the fabric forever!

  8. Hand-dyed fabrics around a box of chocolates and topped with a bunch of flowers. I want it all!!! Thank you so much for the giveaway.

  9. Who would want flowers or candy? Flowers die and candy makes you fat. Nah, fabric would be so much nicer – can last for hundreds of years. Thanks for the giveaway change. I also featured your giveway on the Giveaway Round Up @ wowilikethat.com. Hopefully it will bring some new followers your way. Thanks again.

  10. Your quilting sampler is a great idea! Thanks for sharing. And as for Valentines Day, absolutely the fabric!

  11. Hi Candy
I would like to win the magazine with your article. I love hand dyed fabric but also I love to create flower arrangements and include some greenery from my yard. Since I doubt my husband would buy me any more fabric (I wonder why) I would vote for flowers.

  12. Heavens Above, Candy! That was a “patsy question”!!! A girl never has enough hand dyed, unique fabric!!

I got my copy only a day or three ago (living in New Zealand it takes a few days to get here), and read your article first! What a neat way to keep the designs close at hand. Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try one for myself.

  13. Thanks for the chance to win the copy of QA. Your FMQ booklet looks great.

Congratulations to your son, I hope all goes well with him in the summer with the NYO.

  17. I would love to win a copy of this particular issue. My daughter is taking a surface design class in college and I know she would love reading this issue. My choice would be between the chocolate and the hand dyed fabric … each one is delicious…maybe I could just have a little of both! Happy Valentines Day!!

  18. The stack of hand dyed fabric would be my choice πŸ™‚ Thanks for the sweet giveaway and Happy Valentine’s Day to you!

  19. Last year, I dedicated the year to learning and doing free motion machine quilting on samples. This year, I’m actually tackling my quilts! Love that your patterns make a booklet. I have made placemat size samples… They also make great gifts..
I love fabrics, but with my stash, I’d love flowers. Alas, I have a great intolerance to chocolate… but it does keep the weight off!

  20. Congrats on your article! Thanks for the chance at the magazine, I would love to read your article. I would love flowers, sadly I rarely receive them anymore.

  26. I would say chocolate but it is gone so quickly, always hand-dyed fabric!
Thanks for the opportunity and Happy Valentines!

  27. If my husband gave me a stack of hand-dyed fabric for Valentine’s Day, I would absolutely swoon! It would say without words, that he finally understood me. But that will not happen and that’s okay.

  28. Definitely the fabrics! Flowers die and chocolates aren’t good for me at the moment because I’m pregnant so definitely fabric πŸ™‚
