Giveaway Day! | The Gift of Color: A Hand Dyed Silk Scarf

Edit: The giveaway is closed, congrats to Jane #35!

It’s the holiday season, and I love to give handmade gifts: either ones I make myself or buy from a fellow artist – in fact I spent last Friday dyeing gifts for all my nieces and nephews! I also shared some of my favorite folks I like to buy presents from in this post. And of course, my hand dyed scarves make excellent gifts!

Anyway, it’s Giveaway Day over at Sew Mama Sew! (Actually, it’s all week long, with all sorts of bloggers having a giveaway on the same week!) I’d love to help you give a hand dyed silk scarf to someone (or…save it for yourself! You could wrap it up and put it under the tree and say it’s from “Candy Claus!)

If you’re new here – welcome! If you’re a big fan of color and fabric, you may want to subscribe to my blog or sign up for my newsletter, there’s a form right there on the right! —>

How can you enter?

Just take a peek at my scarf color palettes and then leave me a comment on this post telling me which one is your favorite…or, is there a certain color combination that you’d like to see that isn’t there? I’m always looking for new color ideas, let me know! (Comment moderation is on, so don’t worry if your comment doesn’t show up right away, I’ve got to approve it first!) I will ship internationally. The giveaway is closed, congrats to Jane #35!

When does it end?

Sew Mama Sew has put together a huge list of blogs hosting giveaways this week, if you’ve got some time, head on over and enter some more! They all end this Friday, December 13, at 5 pm Pacific, so you’ve got a few days to tour around and enter a bunch!

I’ll email the winner over the weekend and I’ll send the winner’s choice of habotai scarf out a week from today so it can be placed under the tree for Christmas! (Or around your neck for a holiday celebration!)

  6. I really like the black orchid colorway. I was going to suggest orange and pink but then I saw gerber daisy so you already have it!

  7. How very generous of you to have a giveaway.
Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your beauties.
They are all so yummy, but Black Orchid would be my first choice!

  8. I would like to give this as a Christmas gift to the new Administrative Assistant in EVST from Janine & I (because we are so glad she is here.) 🙂 I think she would love the Moonlit Moth because she loves grays & purples.

  9. Wow! I think Earth, Wind, and Fire is my favorite of your palettes, but there are so many awesome ones!

Thanks for doing such a cool giveaway!

  10. Well if I ahd to choose from the existing — Sunset would be it .. but I’m really missing warm brown, red, dark purple, orangy things in the autumn collection …

  11. Wisteria is sooooo beautiful! I’d love to win that one for my Mom. It was really hard to choose. You’ve got some perfect color combinations.

  12. they are all so beautiful but fall are my colors… esp chocolate splash (although the winter kelp is gorgeous too!)

  13. Such a hard choice. I think my favorite is Earth & Sky. Thanks for sharing your lovely scarf with us!

  14. all so lovely. I like breath of spring, wild rice, kelp and many others.

wild rice would make a great gift for my dear Aunt, so would the pink/grey in winter pallete

  15. My favorite is the Wild Rice one, but if I won I would choose the Wisteria one as a gift for a purple-lover.

  16. Oh! Gerber Daisy and Ocean Surf, and please don’t ask me to choose between them, lol! As for new colours, turquoise and tangerine are beautiful together.

  17. Your colors are beautiful. I love the dark purple in the winter collection. I couldn’t see the name because the print was small and out of focus.

  18. Gorgeous! Fall and Winter are my faves but really, any of your scarves would be a treat to get. Thanks for the opportunity!

  19. Ooh, one that has shades of only blue, say light blue or dark blue or aqua. Or on differ t shades/values of yellow like bright, marigold, mustard. That’d be great.

  20. Your scarves are absolutely gorgeous! I love the Fall colors of earth and sky. I follow you on Bloglovin. Thanks for the chance.

  21. How do I just pick one? Looking at them, I can’t decide because their all beautiful. But if I have to choose…the one that speaks to me the most is Kelp, Ocean Surf, and Gerber Daisy. A color combo I’d love to see would be fuschia, orange, yellow, and lime. Or even one that had purple instead of the lime.

  22. Black Orchid is the scarf that kept catching my eye as I was looking at your beautiful collections. I would LOVE to have any one of them, though.

  23. Madrigals if my favorite existing (grey/red).
It would be cool to see something ranging from chocolate brown to cream for Autumn.

  24. Tough choice for a scarf color. I think I’ve got your black orchid color. But I’m ready to try a crocus for a little brightness to light up the winner. Hope I win.

  25. The colors of winter are beautiful. The color pallets that you use go so great together. Beautiful! Thanks for the chance.

  26. Wisteria is beautiful. I would love to see what you could come up with with dusty purple and green.

  27. I couldn’t even decide what I liked when I looked at all your color combos…they are all so lovely! I tend to look best in smokey blues I guess.

  28. Wisteria ♥ Thanks for the chance, best wishes from Argentina.

  29. I love your Wisteria and Breath of Spring colors. One of my favorite color combinations is green, creamy white, and yellow or orange.

  30. How to choose? All the winter colors are amazing! And Wild Rice! If I had to choose a favorite, I might pick Moonlit Moth. What a beautiful combination of colors!

  31. I was going to say Black Orchid but love Moonlit Moth as much. What a generous prize. Thank you for participating in the giveaway day.

  32. Candy, you know that’s nearly impossible to do right? Pick a favorite?? They ALL are soooo beautiful!! Colors I don’t normally like, you have me going crazy over them. I guess if I had to choose I’d pick Tiger Lily. Or Earth and Sky. It’s too hard. I think I’d like to see you combine earthy greens with soft corals/peaches. Please don’t tell me I missed that in your gallery!!

  33. I love the ‘black orchid’. But they all look lovely! thank you for the chance to win and happy holidays!

  34. What a lovely giveaway – thank you! All of them are so beautiful… I’ve managed to get it down to three favourites: moonlight moth, ocean surf, and wild rice! jphotopoulos(at)gmail(dot)com

  38. They are all beautiful. It’s so hard to choose, I love them all! The summer collection is lovely, I like the moonlit moth scarf too. Beautiful, beautiful.

  39. Gerber Daisey! Maybe orange/yellow and purple. Or pink into purple. Or gradation of any one color.

  40. Gorgeous! Love all but Chocolate Squash is at the top! Your hand dyed fabrics inspire me! Just getting in to dyeing and love it!

  41. Your scarves are all so beautiful. I especially love your Lunar Eclipse. I wish I was not so afraid to attempt dying but realize it would take many years to reach your level of expertise.

Thank you for a wonderful giveaway.

  42. It’s REALLY hard to pick just one. Probably the wisteria, if I had to.
I’ve recently started dyeing scarves with organic materials. It really is a lot of fun, it just takes a lot of time.

  43. Congrats for the beautiful scarves!!
    MMMMMM i cannot choose!
Love the “Burnt Fire” and the “Sunset”!!

  48. Once upon a time I hand-dyed a white silk jacket because I spilled coffee on it. I wore that jacket until the material was nearly see-through. LOL. Your Earth, Wind, and Fire colors appeal to me at this moment of time.

  49. Your scarves are just beautiful. My favorite color combination is purple (my favorite color) and blue so Wisteria would be my choice.
Thank you for such a nice giveaway.

  50. oh my gosh, those are gorgeous! i was really drawn to moonlit moth. i did notice that there wasn’t a lot of navy – that’s been my favorite color lately, especially with coral.

  51. I think its a tossup between spring and winter but they are all beautiful. I love the Madrigals scarves

  52. I love them all! I also like that you are a good friend of my daughter, Mary. She speaks highly of you (whenever I get to see her) 😉 I already have a hand-dyed scarf in the red, yellow, orange colors, so the muted grays would be a nice change. By the way, Mary made me the one I have.

  53. My favorite color palatte is your colors of winter, and I absolutely love the gray and red scarf you have pictured above. Thanks for the awesome giveaway, and Merry Christmas to you!

  54. I love the winter “greens”—-rookie that I am to these names. and….I loved seeing the 1,000,000 ways to wear a scarf, because since I’m everything but cold, having something around my neck makes me crazy—–but I see from your “ways to wear a scarf” that there are solutions to my hot-mama phase. Looking for ways to make my comfortable look a little classier. I think it’s scarves. love your website. so much to see!

  55. Hi Candy, it’s very hard to decide which is my favorite, but I think I like the mixture of opposing colors in your fall palette, and the earth and sky might be the prettiest in my view. Thanks for making beautiful stuff!
