Here’s a “ta-dah” moment: the quilt I made from some “faux snow-dyed” fabric is done!
I really love this fabric, it really reminded my of Monet’s garden at Giverny. That led me to stitch the flowers he immortalizes in his work.
Wisteria:
Water Lilies
and Irises:
It’s the very first time I’ve free motion machine sketched any of these flowers, I need to stitch some more so that I can really figure out how they need to be stitched. Luckily, I’ve got a hankering for making more quilts from this palette! In fact, I’ve got all the blocks except for the long one across the top in reverse already stitched – while piecing the ones for this quilt, I stacked two fabrics together and made the cuts through both at the same time, swapped out the centers and stitched both back together again.
I’m really quite happy with this, and look forward to more art inspired by the flowers of Giverny!

Wow! Really beautiful and you finished so fast! How do you do that? May I pin your creation on pinterist?

I have seen the paintings that Monet did and your fabrics/colours give the fellings of his work.
