Studio Snapshots | Quilting My Improv Sampler

As the heat keeps me inside, I’ve pulled out my Improv Sampler top to quilt. It’s just small enough that I can quilt it in one piece, so I started by fuse-basting the sandwich using my favorite fusible batting:

I’m going to quilt each (large) block with a different free motion motif, so I started with the spiky triangle motif I created to use with the larger Wonky Triangle Medallion quilt I made that was inspired by this block:

Next up is this fun pattern: rectilinear spirals in the center, with undulating petals around the edge, some of them filled with pebbles:

I thought this vertical bamboo pattern worked well on this really vertical block:
