I had someone ask me to indigo dye them four yards of Essex, which is a cotton/linen blend fabric that takes patterning really well. I spent last Saturday ironing, folding, and drawing some glue resist designs:
Last Sunday was a lovely clear, cool day, so after clamping all the folded fabrics:
I dipped, dipped and dipped in the indigo bath. I unfolded everything and hung it to oxidize, and the late afternoon light made this glorious sight:

Thanks! I often wonder what they think, especially when I’m dragging a rocking chair and a basket filled with pillows or bags to get a nice shady part of the backyard! 😉
