Repainting the Boy’s Bathroom

Yep, we’re taking on another home improvement project! This should be small, but it’s a little like giving a mouse a cookie: some drywall needed repair behind the toilet in the boys bathroom, and since the tan paint for this room doesn’t exist and I don’t like it anyway, why not change the wall color? Oh, and the vanity cabinet needs repainting, why not change that color too? Oh, and that light fixture is HIDEOUS and corroded, let’s change that…. You know how it goes! Anyway, here’s where we’re starting with the boys bathroom:

I’d love to paint the vanity a dark blue and keep the white knobs, they’ll really pop against the navy…and make this room a bit more masculine. There’s not that much wall in here, I thought that a light grey would contrast nicely with all the white and the navy. I first painted a swatch of Revere Pewter, which I used in the dining room and it looks quite light there, but in the cave of this bathroom it looked way too dark. So a trip to Benjamin Moore and I came home with:

  • Simply White for the ceiling. And maybe the trim if we decide to repaint that.
  • Gray Sky for the walls
  • Newburyport Blue for the vanity

If we get this all done before vacation, the house sitter will have a lovely new bathroom to try out. If we don’t, she’ll have to use the master bath instead! 😉
