Sharing 2 Last Christmas Presents

Well, I’m finally able to share the last couple of presents I made! First up, my cleaning lady loved the pillow I made for baby Lucy last summer:

So I made one for her with 2 changes: she loves hummingbirds and I didn’t have a rectangular form, so square it is!

I don’t know if she likes it yet because she hasn’t been back for another cleaning, but I expect she did!

Next is something I made right after Christmas, but couldn’t share any pix on social media because Liam’s girlfriend Celia follows me! It was torture, as I had a lot of fun making it! Celia’s beginning her college auditions, and will have a fair amount of travel in the next couple of months, so I made her a Takeoff Tote! I love the one I made for myself and know it’s perfect for her. (Bonus, I sneaked her laptop into my bag while she was visiting earlier this fall to make sure it fits, and it does!). I made it from my hand dyed cotton duck and linen (the teal color), with hand dyed quilting weight cotton for the lining.

She absolutely LOVES peaches, so I Free Motion Machine Sketched a branch of peach blossoms on the front pocket:

This awesome pattern by Dog Under My Desk (aka Erin Erickson) has a sleeve on the back side that you slip over the handles of your rolling suitcase so the bag is securely held while you’re wrangling luggage. I went ahead and sewing velcro to the bottom of the sleeve so when it ISN’T being used during travel, it works as a pocket:

The front zip pocket is a safe way to keep cell phone and wallet secure but handy, and there’s a couple more pockets inside as well:

She loved it – we were so busy that we forgot to take pix of her holding it, sad trombone!
